No in-flight entertainments? No power outlets? Yes, you are in the right place – Economy. Many of those who experience travelling in long-hour flights (in Economy) become fidgety in their sleep and agonize over muscle pains during the air travel. Well, no one has ever enjoyed long, agonizing trips, right? Want to know some sure-fire ways on how to survive that one helluva ride? Here’s how:
- Bring something to entertain you. Make sure all your devices are fully charged. Organize your playlist and take along with you your favourite books. After all, there’s no better company than a good song and a great book.
- Get comfy. Choose the right clothes. Hop on to your most comfortable outfit. Wear something light over a cardigan and opt for a stretchy denim pants. Always bring a scarf or sarong. It doesn’t weigh anything and can be useful for so many things like covering yourself, a towel, a blanket, a scarf, a sweater and a privacy screen.
- How to really get that sleep. Do not – I repeat, do not, ever drink alcohol. It will only make your sleep worse. Take some tea instead. If you have a neck pillow at home, take it along with you. Use it to cradle your head and neck. Use the pillow provided by the airline to support your lower back.
- Hydrate yourself. Always water your system. It is everything! Secure a big bottle of water before boarding the plane. You can ask the flight attendants to refill your bottle when you run out of supply.
- Stay hale and hearty. Wipe everything first! Prevention is better than cure, isn’t it? Use sanitizing towels to wipe down your seat, arm rest, and all. Take your vitamins. And always use a paper towel when you use the comfort room. When you are done, use a clean paper towel to hold the doorknob when opening from the inside.
- Bring a toiletry kit. Bring along the basics: face wash, toothbrush, toothpaste, lip balm, lotion, eye cream, hand sanitizer and makeup!
Being on long-hour trips is overstressing. There is no magic bean for enjoying that long, dreadful flight in economy. Pack everything you need – from water, neck pillow, hydrating eye mask, hand sanitizer, protein-rich snacks, your playlist, etc. The key there is to organize everything before you leave your house, de-stress your mind and look into the brighter side!
