New York is the city that never sleeps. Turns out we have a counterpart in Canada and it is nearly the same. Montreal is the party city of Canada. When you turn 18, you already allowed to drink and party until you drop. You will never get bored when you try out the life there. Lively clubs, bars and restaurants will keep you wandering at night. You will never have to worry as well about your safety. The neighborhood there is just as hospitable and fun-loving like you expect. The internet even has set Canada as the nicest place on earth.
We will see through the eyes of New York to get to know Montreal more.
- Places to stay and apartments to live. Sure thing that New York has a mass of places to move in. With the dreamers all over the world aspiring to be a part of the concrete jungle, they can never run out of apartments. There are only two differences between NY and Montreal - the space and the price. NY has smaller places that will cost you extra bucks to get a comfy apartment. In Montreal, you will not pay more than $500-$600 for a good place to stay. The good neighborhood is a bonus.
- Spending more money. Lifestyle in New York can be a little bit too pricey. Especially when you start moving out of home, you find that every move you make requires money. You have to pay the rent and buy food for sustainability. Montreal too requires you money to survive but it gives you a lot to save too. The population of students here gives you the privilege to have more discounts at grocery stores. Although it is expensive for liquors due to taxes, Canadians are very understanding. They allow you to bring your own booze at restaurants. Cheaper bills.
- No man is an island. NY is a crowded place. Everywhere you go, you can see people even during the latest of the night. Some doing power walks and some are just minding their own business. But you could always extend a hand and introduce yourself. Canadians are warm people. They are real versions of Olaf from Disney’s Frozen. They can be quiet if you need peace and they are very glad to tell you all about Montreal.
- Party all day. Montreal has clubs open until you decide to close it. Just like NY, you have to choose your place. Some bars might not get along with your jam. You can still party all day! You decide.
- Metro! Although trains and subways can be quite inconvenient for NY, Montreal prefers it than driving a car. See, these days, summer for Canada turns out to be all year winter. It is hard to shovel snow and tiring to look for parking space. Besides, at $80 you can have a monthly metro card. Very efficient! Montreal can be the place you want to settle in. It is as aspiring as NYC but a bit relaxed.
