When we talk about travelling or going to places we have never been before, we usually are excited. Normally, we inform our friends and family if who wants to go with us. There are some who opted to travel alone for they wanted to explore the world and experience it by themselves. This concept is not bad at all because each one of us has our own perspective, personality and choices. Advance planning – To travel in new places that you have never been before should preferably not be done overnight. This is because you have to study the culture, the do’s and don’ts and the whereabouts of the place that you are planning to go. Remember that it is not your area, thus you should be careful always.

Go light – To hop in into new places, you should not pack heavy. Always go back to your purpose which is to explore. When we talk about exploring, it is expected that you will be visiting different places in 24 hours. Your heavy bag should not be a burden to you. Travelling light is very important and to achieve this, just thing of the necessary items to bring and leave behind those that are not important.

Smile and make friends – Though you wanted to travel alone, knowing somebody in the area is quite significant most especially if they are locals. They may teach you travel tips in the area and for you to relate to their culture as well.

Explore – Your purpose in going to that place is to explore. Though you are alone, you can still join tours for you not just to explore but to learn something from it as well. Do not be afraid to explore. Bringing with you a handy map is also a good thing so that you can find your way home to the hotel you checked in.

Enjoy the rest of the day – It is normal that when the day ends, you will surely get tired. Having a break by visiting some café and bars will surely whine you up a bit. Reward yourself by trying out their best tasting local foods and mingle with others as well.

Be safe always – Being new to the place will not make you free from any crimes. So, never go or walk on dark streets and alleys for you never know what awaits you at the end. Do not drink too much so that you will arrive at your hotel room safe. Also, do not trust new found friends immediately, it’s better to be safe than to be a victim.
