Travel Tips for First-Timers

Traveling can be very enjoyable and yet a hassle at the same time. But whether you enjoy or feel terrible about it depends on how well you have prepared for that day. Here are some tips for you first-time travelers:

1. Plan it well.

Select the perfect date for your vacation. Make sure you do not have anything pending. That is to ease your mind and enjoy the travel.

2. Book your trip.

Whether you go by air, water or land, book your trip wisely. Rather than jumping into regular/premium rates right away, it is wiser to look at promos first. With that, you could save money and use it later to fully experience the travel.

3. Money

Make sure to have enough money plus some more. It is important to make an estimate of your expenses during the trip, which includes food, accommodation, fare, access fees to different exciting places you will go, etc. For a smooth flow of your vacation, add some extra; it is better to have more, than be short.

4. Preparation for Travel: Better Safe than Sorry

List the essentials. This includes soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, for girls – do not forget the tampons or napkins, and of course your passport and booking documents.

The number of clothes varies depending on the length of the vacation. For a week-long travel, you may bring 4-5 shirts and 3-5 shorts/pants. It is not necessary to wear different outfit each day, instead bring the most comfortable clothing you have for you will never know what adventure lies ahead. Also include a few pairs of underwear. It is also good to research about the place you are going to, if the weather is hot or cold so you would know what outfit to bring.

Also include your mobile phone, mobile charger, watch, map, camera, and compass. These will be very helpful for you in navigating the place you are going to. Always ready your mobile phone for emergency cases, and of course camera to capture breathtaking moments you will forever remember.

After the list has been done, start packing while cross-checking with the list you made to avoid missing them.

5. Departure

This is the day for your vacation. Arrive at the airport or port or terminal preferably 2 hours before your departure time. This is to avoid being left, and so all your preparations will not all go to waste.

6. Enjoy the travel.

Leave your expectations behind, for expectations lead to disappointment. Open your heart and mind to experience new things, things which can be bad or good compared to your standards.

Aside from you planned attractions and tourist spots, also try knowing more about the place. Communicate with the locals and other tourists along the way for a fuller experience. But always remember to make a good approach so you will also be respected.

It is important to take pictures of the beautiful places you will see, but do not give all your time to taking pictures, rather live in the moment and look at the scenery with your own eyes. That is your reason for trip.

Good luck and happy travelling!
