Making the Most of the Long Flights

It is not common to find somebody who enjoys long flights and it is for a good reason. Being stuck in the same place for hours can be exhausting especially if you cannot stay put in one place for a long period. There are flights that seem to last forever and there are those that feels like you've reached your destination in a blink of an eye. So what should you do to ensure that you enjoy your long trip?

Choosing the right seat is very important. The seat that you should book actually depends on your preference. It would be safe to say though that middle seats are probably not the best choice. It feels like you are being squeezed in by the people on either side of you. If you prefer to be able to get up without having to bother others, then you should get an aisle seat. If you want to have something rest your head on as you sleep then get a window seat. If you need more leg room, then you should try booking a seat in the front row.

Always have a travel kit with you. This includes toothbrush, a lip balm, toothpaste, pain killers and whatever else it is that will make you feel refreshed during the flight. You might also want to bring along an inflatable pillow for your trip to make you feel more comfortable during your trip.

And because this it is a long flight, you might also want to ditch tight jeans. Wear clothes that you will feel comfortable. Women, for example can opt for leggings and loose tops. Men could choose jeans that are not restricting their movements. And if you have to look smart when reaching your destination, you could always bring a change of clothes. And because the air conditioning can get really cold, bring something to help you stay warm like a sweater and thick socks. The blankets offered during the flight might not be enough to keep you warm.

It is always a good idea to bring food with you just in case the airline meal isn't to your liking or if it isn't enough. But make sure that the food you bring is something you can finish during the flight because there are some countries that are strict with the items you bring in, and that includes food.

Long flights are bound to be boring so bring something with you to keep you entertained. Load up on music or make sure that your laptop or tablet has interesting movies that you can watch during the flight. If you are a bookworm, make sure that you have a book or two to keep you entertained.

And make sure that you are not seated in you assigned seat for the whole duration of your flight. Make sure that you move around, maybe walk in the aisle for a couple of minutes to keep the blood flowing. You should also avoid drinking alcohol, caffeine and fizzy drinks during the flight because it will make you feel dehydrated.
