Kids and Travelling: What Do You Really Need to Pack Before Travel?

To finally get away for a holiday from a tedious and stressful job is a million-dollar price for anybody. Counting off the nights you spend of dreaming about beautiful sunsets with cold drinks on one hand and just waiting for the day to end without thinking of anything. But it is no longer the same when you have a kid. Having kids is a precious thing but sometimes, you just can’t get enough of the young years when all you have to worry about is yourself. Every blessing come another responsibility and we will not let our kids become spoilers of the best things we have planned to enjoy a quick get-away.

The only secret is to get ready.

Nobody in this planet who knows what your kids need than you are so you have to prepare a checklist just to make sure you DO NOT forget anything. You might want to ask these questions to keep you going:

  • How many days are we staying? – This is one of the most important questions you have to ask because it is not nice to pack too much especially with the high payment for excess baggage. Everything inside your bag should all be essential. How many days are you staying out of town? How often does your child change clothes? You should at least prepare no less than two shirts, one for extra because we’ll never know when the rain comes or he sweats excess.

Just a quick tip, don’t bring one sleeping outfit per night because your kid will just use it while he sleeps. Just bring one for two days, it will do the trick.

  • How long will the trip to the destination take? – You can’t get it out of kids to be bored immediately because their attention span is too low so don’t forget to bring anything that keeps them leisure so that you would not end up stressed for their whining. Bring one of their favorite toys, their gadgets, a few light books and snacks to keep them company. I swear, kids love snacks, even you, do!
  • Where will we go? – Where are you going? Really? Is it somewhere damp? Somewhere humid? Somewhere cold? You got to know. So check the weather forecast so that you will know if you would bring coats or flip flops. But then, you will never know what would happen so go bring a pair of shoes and a pair of flip flops. You will find out how convenient it is when your child would cry getting too tired having his feet all covered with uncomfortable material and you have a pair of flip flops to save the day!

Those are just some guidelines that will help you make your check list. You know what your child needs and I trust you for knowing what’s best. Don’t forget the bathroom necessities though and, always have your first-aid kit handy!
