Why Sign Up for Airline Newsletters?

Before saying a “no, thank you” to this suggestion, just imagine what the benefits you will get from signing up for a free newsletter from different airline companies. Travelling nowadays can be considered as a way of life, something that even an ordinary John Doe can do provided he knows how to travel within his means. Signing up for newsletters may allow you and your travel buddies to travel more and pay less and this is not the only benefit. You can get so much more. Read on to find out

You will know the air fare promos first hand. The thing is, we know that airlines pour out promo fares every now and then but we never get to book them ourselves because as soon as we find out about them (usually either through word of mouth or a friend forwarding us an email about it), it is already too late. So what do you do? Sign up for newsletters, turn on the air fare promo alerts for the destination or route you are tracking for and read newsletter email. Do not set them up for junk or spam mail because you will just forget you signed up for them in the first place.

You get exclusive coupon codes. Who does not love using coupons? If you sign up for an airline newsletter, chances are you will be provided coupon codes that are exclusive for newsletter members only. Airlines tend to do this from time to time and what does having coupon codes mean? Discounted air fares of course. A lot of airlines nowadays are offering best fares (and when I say best, I mean cheapest) in private sales where only newsletter subscribers ever get to see them. Do not ever forget to enter the coupon code once you start booking because you might get charged full price.

Price matching. This is a little bit tricky but you will get the hang of it. Sign up for newsletters in airlines that offer cheaper tickets but do not fly on, especially those which compete with you primary airline carrier. When these airlines notify a promo fare, check if they included your planned route and compare it to the airline you are planning to fly on. If it is significantly cheaper and your airline offers price matching, work fast and follow their price matching instructions right away.

And lastly, airlines remember your birthday. Some airlines give you promotional discounts on your natal day so if you were planning totake a trip, you can use that code to book cheaper flights. These codes do not expire immediately too. So there you go, these are all strong reasons to subscribe to airline newsletters.  If you are worried that they will send you a lot of emails, one other trick I would like to share is what you can do is just create another email account for this purpose so that it does not clog up your personal mail inbox. So what are you waiting for? Sign up now!
