Things to Prepare Before you Travel

Before you travel you should prepare those things that you need. You can make a checklist to make sure that you don’t miss anything that you need to bring. It should be only the most important item is what you need to bring so your luggage will not be that heavier and will be easy for you to carry.

This is the checklist that you may want to consider in preparation to your travel.

  1. When traveling overseas be sure that your passport and your visas are ready. If you don’t have yet a passport, make sure to apply ahead of time like two to three months before your planned trip so there will be no conflict on your travel.
  2. Ensure your safety like your health and other necessary vaccinations needed. It is better to be safe than be sick and encounter any health problem when you travel.
  3. Call your credit card company or your bank to make sure that your cards will work abroad and there will be no problem when you used them on that country you are visiting.
  4. It is good to make colored copies of your documents especially your visas and passport. Leave these colored copies at home for emergency if in case there is something happened.
  5. Bring with you only important things like your clothes, undergarments, personal hygiene stuffs, and food to eat. Bring your medicines as well if you are taking some medicines at home.
  6. Don’t forget your camera for the photo shoot you may do when you travel. You might not want to miss those perfect sceneries that you want to capture.
  7. Get in touch with someone left at home to ensure that you are safe on your travel. Do not let them be bothered while you are away from home.
  8. If you have any subscription make sure that you pay them before you travel. You might stay in the other country for couple of weeks and you might miss to pay your bills on time. You might not want to have an outstanding bill right?
  9. When no one will be left at home and the whole family will be traveling, make sure that there will be someone to look at your place. If you are renting be sure your landlord is aware on how much time you will be away. So they will be able to have a look on your home for the meantime.
  10. Keep a map it will be helpful if it seems that the strangers you are speaking is not able to understand you in the country you are visiting. There is no problem if you visit an English speaking country, you can always ask someone when you need.

Always be mindful and never ignore what you see around you when you travel. Remember that you are totally a stranger there and every step might create a different impact on your visit in that country. Make sure you enjoy everything and you always smile especially to the local people in the place you will visit.
