  • After you are certified to teach English abroad, you will decide which country you like to offer your newly acquired skills. If there is already a particular place you want to teach, go ahead and pick it. Otherwise, you will need to do a research on potential markets targeted for ESL teachers around the world. If you have no specific place to choose, pick one that has high demand for ESL teachers.
  • After you have chosen which country to offer your English teaching skills, you will need to build up your resume specifically for ESL jobs. Your resumes are very crucial for your application for a job overseas as it will be the first impression on you. Put a cover letter together with your resume as well.
  • Your cover letter and resume are sent to various schools after you have built them up you will be hearing from a number of employers that will want to do an interview with you. You should prepare your interview first even if there are no calls yet.

When you have finished your interviews, you will begin to receive offers of employment together with contracts. It is normal to get excited getting a job offer but you should always read your contract first before signing them. Ask questions if necessary as it gives you an assurance that you agreed with the contract at hand.

  • Excellent read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on that. And he just bought me lunch since I found it for him smile Therefore let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch!
