Strange Places In Japan Worth Visiting

Japan is known throughout the world for its weirdness. This is how the western world view Japan for their ideas but when you visit the place, this is accepted as normal to them. Each day you will get to see something entirely different from what you have experienced which can leave either make you annoyed or happy. Either way majority of the tourists that visit Japan always have the most fun in their lives because they get to experience things that cannot be seen from the rest of the world.

Since talking about strange, rather than going to the most recommended places to visit in Japan by tourism, you might want to visit places that considered Bkyuu or B rank spots by the Japan's travel resources. They are the best places for tourists who do not like the crowds but will still find the best in them. Take note that these places are the ones that people do not tell you about.

  • Okunoshima or Rabbit Island - during World War II this place was one huge factory for poison gas. You will no longer find those here now as it is infested with a lot of rabbits. Theory about the rabbit infestation was after the war the people living in this place wanted to kill these rabbits to eradicate evidence but the local youngsters set them all free before they could even attempt to kill them. There are barely any predators in this place added with fifty or more years for their breeding, it is expected to have a rabbit infestation, isn't it? This place is a haven for rabbit lovers.
  • Going to Meguro district in Tokyo and you will find the Meguro Parasite Museum. Why would you want to visit this place? This is the only museum in the world that holds various parasites preserved in bottles. Visiting here is very educational.
  • Momofuku Ando Instant Ramen Museum - grocery stores only hand you a cup of instant ramen but when you visit this place you get to make your own Cup Noodle. Rather than eat your Cup Noodle, you might just want to keep it as a souvenir.

If there is an island infested with rabbits, there is also an island infested with cats. Take note - no dogs allowed. Your trip to the strangest place in Japan is not complete without a tour to the Cat Island or locally known as Tashirojima. Cat lovers out there, do not hesitate to visit this place!
