Also, keep an eye on wild animals. There are fences to keep the animals from the roads but we will never know. Some animals make their way to the streets even in urban areas. Small animals may cause slight damage but wild boar and deer might take you to a different chapter of the story. These incidents are to be strictly observed during sunrise and sunset, springtime, moose hunting season, edge of forests and bridges across streams. The population of stray animals are heavy at these hours. In case you hit an animal, the Emergency Number is 112 and simply say “viltolycka”.

Summer is the best time to visit the area but can be risky too. During summer, roads are busy and as police records show, it is the time of the year with a lot of accidents happen. It is better to keep the speed limit low. In these times, locals also sell their fresh berries and juices at the streets. As part of the road trip and travelling, it is best to get to know the locals and explore their culture. It is not every day you meet someone raised entirely different so might as well grab the chance. Sweden has special requirements but bending the rules can be a bit fun. Always stay safe!
