Seven Places You Should Have Visited Before You Die

The Seven Wonders of the World has evolved through time. As diverse the world is, there are many discoveries that came through time. The world is really a place full of wonders. Anywhere you go - there is always an experience worth the books.

  • Khufu Hustle! The Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in El Giza, Egypt. This is also the grandfather of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient world. You can still find this intact. The pyramid is believed to be built in a time frame of 10-20 years according to Egyptologists. Based on a mark, Pharaoh Khufu is the leader of building this amazing view. The main part of Giza is a setting of buildings that include two temples in honor of Khufu, three smaller pyramids for Khufu’s wives, satellite pyramid connecting the two temples, and small tombs that surround the pyramid for nobles.
  • The dedication of loving a woman. This place is evidence that if you truly love a person, you will do all your best to make them happy and keep them satisfied. Nebuchadnezzar II built the Hanging Gardens for his wife, Queen Amytis. According to a legend, the queen missed the hills and green valleys of her homeland. The husband cannot consider a tear from his wife’s eye without even doing a thing. Thus, The Hanging Gardens of Babylon existed. Until now, the location of this extravagant gift for a queen is unknown. There are no archaeological facts that are supporting. Although, poets and writers have spoke of the existence of the place.
  • The statue of greatness. The Colossus of Rhodes was depicted to honor Helios, the Greek titan-god of the sun. Rhode’s won over the ruler of Cyprus. Before it got destroyed with an earthquake, the statue stood over 98 feet. It is one of the tallest statues in the world.
  • Temple of Virginity. – The temple of Artemis was built dedicated to the goddess of the hunt, wild animals, wilderness, childbirth, virginity and protector of young girls. The temple was destroyed and rebuilt three times. First destruction was caused by flood. Antipater of Sidon who compiled the list of Seven Wonders quoted “Lo, apart from Olympus, the Sun never looked on aught so grand.Its ruins still remain in Ephesus, located in the present-day Turkey.
  • A tomb for the women of his life. Mausoleum at Halicarnassus was a tomb built for Mausolus, a satrap in the Persian Empire and Artemisia II of Caria.
  • The lighthouse of Alexandria. The building is one of the tallest that was built by men. It took twelve years and two rulers to finish the lighthouse. The lighthouse was believed to be built with solid blocks of limestone. It was badly damaged by three earthquakes and became an abandoned ruin.
  • The temple of Zeus was a giant seated figure made by Phidias. The Zeus was a sculpture made with ivory and gold panels. He was so huge that a geographer mentioned that Zeus looked like he would unroof the temple.

If only all of these seven wonders still exist, it would have been an honor to visit. It is like being a part of the history of the world. I have already started writing my bucket list. Which place do you think you should go?
