Qatar is home to over 560 km of sandy coastline. It is often referred to as the Pearl of the Middle East because of their extensive pearl diving sites which are the popular tourist excursion nowadays. So, if you want to relax or just want to have a tan skin, check out the best beaches in Qatar. 

Here are the lists of some well known beaches in the country of Qatar;

  1. Al Ghariya Beach - it is once the location of desert camp for the country's scouting movement. Al Ghariya gradually developed into a small weekend facility for other campers.
  2. Umm Bab – it is also known as “Palm Tree Beach” because of the small cluster of palms at the end of the road alongside the small breakwater. It has deep sand, so you must be careful when visiting.
  3. Fuwairit – it has an unusual sight of eroded hills that meets the water’s edge. The area has a fine sandy bay with coves that make good picnic spots.
  4. Maroona – it is also known as the “French Beach”. It is a good place to enjoy the water but the sand is too fine and not quite suitable for pitching tents. Maroona is a small beach that is located 80km north of Doha.
  5. Sealine Beach Resort – it is situated just south of Mesaieed. It has villas, two swimming pools, landscaped grounds, and chalets that are available for rent overnight, weekends, holidays, and is also open today visitors.
  6. Ras Abrouq (Bir Zekreet) - It is located at the very tip of a peninsula northeast of Dukhan. It is the favorite spot for weekend campers. The area is full of interesting coves and bays, but the best is at the far end: a sweeping half-moon bay flanked at both ends by rocky outcrops.   7. Khor Al Adaid – it is surrounded by mountainous sand dunes and various mini pools. The area is one of Qatar’s most visited tourist attractions. If you love taking a walk on the wild side, then Khor Al Adaid is best for you. There are also camel ride and sand ski experience.
  8. Al Wakra Family Beach – it appears to be a private facility because it is difficult to locate. It is situated in the hidden south of Al Wakra. In spite of being off the main track, residents of Al Wakra flock there on weekends with their families to grill, smoke sheesha and socialize. The sand near the water is ploughed and kept clean, which softens the sand making it ideal for building sand castles.
