Natural Wonders Of The World That You Must Visit

There are so many natural wonders of the world and, naming them in order is usually a challenge since every person has a unique way of defining them. Most of these wonders are located on the most remote parts of the world and are very hard to reach. Here are some natural wonders of nature that you must visit and explore.

  • Puerto Princesa Subterranean River in Philippines is the longest underground river in the world. This river, which is 8.2 kilometer long, passes through a cave. The river drains water into the South China Sea. Navigating the underground river is an experience of a life time. This cave has many chambers, stalactites and stalagmites. The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1999 to conserve the river, the forest surrounding it and the habitat.
  • Iguassu Falls - Another place that is full of legend and folklore is Brazil and Argentina's Iguassu falls which in my eyes in one of the world's most impressive waterfalls. The water flows through Brazil and tumbles over, mostly on the Argentinean side with varying lengths of sheet water thanks to the many broken islands on top of the waterfall. The falls form a shape of the letter 'J' with the bottom, curving portion being known as the Devil's throat where the majority of water is pulled towards which in turn tumbles even faster down the falls.
  • The Galapagos Islands located west of Ecuador consists of 13 Islands. The main attractions in these islands are the unique and fearless wildlife. The most animals commonly seen include; giant tortoise, giant lions, whales, penguins and different bird species. The main activities here are watching the wildlife, snorkeling, diving and mountain climbing.
  • Lake Turkana, a saline water lake in Kenya is one of the best places to study the plants and animals. A part from this, it is an ideal breeding place for the hippos and the Nile crocodiles. Some immigrant bird species have been discovered in this area.
  • The New Caledonia Barrier Reef is the second largest barrier reef in the world which mostly surrounds the islands of Grande Terre Island and the popular cruise ship destination Isle of Pines. The reef also provides home for the endangered dugongs, green turtles, sharks, rays, dolphins and on occasion humpback whales.

Wonders of the world define the beauty of this planet of life. They are respected for their beauty and architecture and bring us close to the excellence, man and nature can achieve.
