Macau’s Eastern Part Best Spot

In the eastern part of the city is where most of the popular destinations situated such as the Guia Hill which is the highest point of Macau and the Flora Garden that also offers a panoramic view of the city and seascapes. A promenade around the hill is an ideal place for relaxation and exercise. 

Here are the four places which is the pride in Macau’s Eastern part:

  1. Lou Lim Iok Garden – it is the only Suzhou style garden in Macau. It boasts elegant and peaceful scenes just south of the Yangtze River. Lou Lim Iok Garden is enlisted in the top eight scenes of Macau in 1992. It was once the largest private garden in Macau as well as one of the top three beautiful gardens of Macau and was opened to the public in 1974. The elaborately designed scenes in the garden are entrancing and an old-time archway, followed by paths bordered with flowers and bamboos are found.
  2. Kun Ian Temple – it is the most impressive and magnificent of the three most famous temples of Macau. It has many similarities with ancient Chinese temples and is also known as the site of the first Sino-American treaty which was signed in 1844. It also has three main shrines that suit one another.
  3. Lin Fung Temple – is also known as the Lotus temple and was built during the Ming Dynasty and originally named as Tianfei Temple. In front of the temple is a spacious square surrounded by stone enclosures and an ancient trees with thick leaves grow in the square. Behind it there is a small ornamental garden with pavilions, flowers and grass. Lin Fung Temple is not just a tourist spot because of its rich heritage but also because it is where the national hero, Lin Zexu and other Chinese heroes that stayed and visited in there. 
  4. Macau Maritime Museum – was built on the site where the first group of Portuguese explorers landed on Macau in 1553. The Macau Maritime Museum is divided into five sections. The exhibits on the first floor portray traditions and techniques of the fishermen in Macau. Exhibits include displays of costumes, fishing techniques and fishing boat models. On the second floor, the exhibits survey the history of the Portuguese explorations and geographical discoveries. The top floor houses exhibits on marine technology and transport, dredging and navigation.
