Although he was born in Mississippi, Elvis was basically a native of Memphis, raised in public housing projects. He was inspired by blues at the local clubs, and was discovered at Sun Studio. Graceland is the mansion that Elvis bought in 1957, for $100,000. The previous owner had named the mansion Graceland. It’s been open to tourists since 1982, and since then millions of Elvis fans have visited it. These are some suggestion of a must see places here in Memphis.
Don’t judge the exterior of studios such as Sun Studio. In the 1950s his humble site recorded music of blues artists such as BB King. Rock stars such as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Jerry Lee Lewis also recorded songs from this world-famous studio.
