Discover the True Adventure in Niger

Niger is a landlocked country in Western Africa and originally named after the Niger River. Niger passed through a lot of dark times such as the Tuareg rebellion, coup d’état, and famine that really strikes Niger down. Tourists or even people in their place are terrified because of those wars and the killings of foreigners. But right now they are already starting to rise and making their own name. Just as other places, Niger has something to be proud of. Niger has also beautiful spots where you can do hiking and sightseeing and stunning architectures. They have also places in which tourists must come and visit. Some of these are the:

  • Ayorou – this small town is located in the banks of Niger River where you can see lots of hippos. I say, real live hippopotamus, that’s pretty cool, huh? I really want to visit those hippos. There is a small village across ayorou in Niger River. You will enjoy riding the boat across the river; the paddle men are very friendly. You can see the woman that washes their dishes in the side of the river.
  • Zinder – it is known as the cultural capital of Niger where bartering is very common. People across Niger come to this place to sell and make bargains. I think, people here are really good salesmen, so you really have to make the best bargain. It is the second largest city in Niger and here you can visit the Zengou Quarter where you can see the amazing Hausa Architecture.
  • Koure – you can find in here lots of giraffes and that is really cool. I wonder if giraffes would allow me if I climb in their back? It would really be amazing if you could actually see them feed on top of the trees.
  • Agadez Mosque – it was originally made of clay and mud since wood and cement are very scarce in Sahara. It was first built in 15th century but was rebuilt in the late 18th century. It is considered as the most famous mosque in the city. The largest city in Niger is Agadez and it is divided in to three divisions such as Bilma, Arlit and Tchirozerine.

Never underestimate the power of those places that we think are just nothing. We don’t really know that they are the ones who can offer us the best adventure ever. Visit Niger and experience its true beauty, don’t miss this place to put on your list.
