  • Industrial Cities

No visit to Michigan is complete without visiting Detroit. While the city is bankrupt and has almost 80,000 abandoned buildings, a DIY spirit has captured the city. Entrepreneurs, artists, and youngsters are fueling that spirit. Vacant lots are being converted into urban farms, and abandoned buildings are becoming museums and hostels. While the city is definitely going through some rough times, it has a promising future. 

  • Coastal Regions

There’s a reason why they call Lake Michigan Shore the Gold Coast. This 300-mile Western shoreline features unending stretches of orchards, wineries, and beaches. They’re thriving during the summer and quite frigid during the winter. If you visit a state park it’s important to keep in mind that campsite reservations with a vehicle permit are required. Visiting the coastal regions in Michigan is a great experience for you and your family.

  • Suburban Cities

About 40 miles west of Detroit, Ann Arbor is home to the University of Michigan. The downtown area is fantastic for strolling in. There you can find tons of bookstores, pubs, and coffee shop. It’s also a fantastic place to visit for foodies. The foods here are amazing and it is best to experience the taste of Michigan.

  • Large Regions

For example, Central Michigan is Michigan’s heartland, located in the center of the Lower Peninsula. It’s a crossroads of fertile farms and urban regions. There are tons of places to visit including Grand Rapids, and Lansing. Attractions include Michigan Historical Museum, Gerald R. Ford Museum, Frederik Meijer Gardens, and Broad Museum of Art. Nothing can get from you these wonderful experiences of your visit here in Michigan.

While Detroit is a shell of its former self, it’s still among the sites worth visiting in Michigan. Visiting Michigan can’t be that great if you don’t visit Detroit, there are more to witness there.
