Careful Travel Planning

Every travel should carefully plan their trip first before they embark. Although the word adventure seems like a fun thing to do, you might eventually end up being given a violation since you violated the local laws or even upset somebody for being ignorant of what should be the proper thing to do. It is absolutely important that every traveler should know a thing or two about the place they are going in order to avoid shame or losing the opportunity to travel again.

  • Learn the language - if you are planning on visiting a country in which their native language is not the universal spoken language, by all means learn the basics so as to avoid misunderstandings. Your trip will be much easier if you learn the language, even if you have you are speaking in broken words. You may find that locals will appreciate your effort and will help you find your way through the place. Even if the country knows English well, there is a high chance that you will be asking a native who cannot speak English.
  • Try to know the things that are considered rude to the locals. What you think is okay in your place maybe rude to other countries so it is best to ask people who have been at your planned destination on the things that you should avoid doing to have a smoother trip.
  • Join travel related forums - you will be able to get an idea how expatriates have been living a life totally different from where they used to live and they will also give you tips on the best places to live, restaurants, shopping centers, must see events, etc.
  • If you are planning on staying for a long time, it is wise to rent an apartment or a single room where you can comfortably spend the rest of your trip there. Make sure that the room or apartment you take is the one that is most beneficial for your needs such as near public transportation, shopping centers, restaurants, local food shops, etc.
  • Packing light - this is very convenient for travelers especially if they do not stay in a single spot for a day or less. You no longer need to unpack and pack a lot of stuff.

You may have other tips for careful planning so you can add the ones above to your list!
