California Desert Camping, Another Perfect Place To Getaway

A cold weather condition doesn’t have to put you in discouragement with your outdoor sleeping adventures. One of the perfect places to get away from the city’s pressure is a local California desert and the best way to enjoy the desert is to camp there alone or with your friends. This physically beautiful and most interesting place sun spoiled and often untouched by majority of travelers or adventurers. Several deserts have slot canyons to desolate mountains.

Anyone can explore some gigantic rock formations to powdery sands. Orchards plantation to ghost towns. California desert camping is also called dry camping which do not requires special permit for this kind of outdoor activities. Here you can pitch a tent anywhere you want and rode a bike for fun. There is something a lot that could offer under the burning flame of the sun. However, be aware of sandstorms every now and then. 

In different heavily tourist spot destinations often practice a Leave No Trace attitude, meaning - pack all your wastes and do not leave it behind. The best popular places to visit are the regions of Death Valley, Anza – Borrego, Mojave Desert, Joshua Tree National Park, and Glamis.  

A pleasing way to wind out a long tiring day of exploring the cool dry place of Californian desert is to cook food with your campfire.

  • To take advantage of this opportunity, create a fire ring with a circular shape (key hole). The bright idea is to have one part of it is where to burn your logs and another is to push the hot coals that you will cook your food or boil some water.
  • You can place a handy grill over the square section or a simple foil pan can make the work done.  A toughen kettle can even be placed over this portion of the fire ring to boil water.

Things to Remember
Bring plenty of water. Anaverage person can consume about 2 gallons (8 L) of water per day. Water can be substituted or replaced partially with fruit juices or other liquid like Gatorade. Sodas like Coca cola and other beverages do not hydrate you. Thus, you may vitally need water to cool an overheating radiator.

Stay safe! The desert can be unpleasant and challenging place, you should be prepared in advance and fully self-reliant. Yes, you can go camping in the desert in the summer. It not a death that sometimes lures peoples mind when thinking of desert. Even though, you can still enjoy staying or camping outdoors in California's parched lands if you organize one or more of the following: 1) go uphill, 2) go north, and 3) go prepared for heat or sandstorm/s. To make desert camping an interesting activity, the state developed campground with 43 sites and old-school infrastructure built by the Civilian Conservation Corps dated back in the 1930s. These sites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis all year round where potable water is also offered to the public.
