Best Beaches In Maui

Maui, an island in Hawaii, is the complete package for near perfection in what an island should be. It combines the best attributes of the other Hawaiian islands-Kauai, Oahu, and the Big Island, into one with its luxurious beach vacations, gorgeous scenery, outdoor adventure, and awesome surroundings. Here are some best beaches in Maui that you can visit.

  • Wailea Beach is one of five beaches within Wailea Resort on Maui's South Shore. This large crescent-shaped beach in front of the Four Seasons Wailea and the Grand Wailea Hotel and Spa features restrooms, outdoor showers, and a limited amount of free parking.
  • Waianapanapa State Park, In East Maui off Hana Highway is the Waianapanapa State Park, a 12-acre beach park surrounded by lava cliffs and features underwater caves, seaside lava tubes and a hiking trail leading to Hana. The Honokalani Black Sand Beach is here. The shore of Honokalani Beach is actually made of black pebbles and makes a striking contrast against the blue, blue skies and ocean waters. Waianapanapa State Park is replete with camping facilities, cabins, restrooms, and picnic areas. Camping is allowed but you have to get a permit in Wailuku first. The only downside here is the strong rip currents and waves that smash offshore, making the waters often risky for swimming. Plus, there are no lifeguards here.
  • Kapalua Bay Beach is located in West Maui and its calm surf shielded by lava rock is perfect for families and more subdued swimmers. This gold sand beach is near Kapalua Bay Hotel, so it tends to get crowded with tourists staying at the Kapalua or at one of the other posh hotels nearby.
  • Hulopoe Beach is considered by many to be among the ten best beaches in all of Hawaii. Since the beach is a marine life conservation area, tropical-hued fish and plant life provide colorful underwater scenery for divers. Temperatures hover in the mid-70s, making Huopeo Beach an idea setting for swimming and sunbathing, too.
  • Napili Beach in West Maui is a beautiful beach area all year long. You can frequently see turtles there and there are some nice trees along the back of the beach for shade. This is a very popular area and it can be hard to find a parking spot here, but worth looking for one. There is a small grocery store where you can grab something cold to drink or snacks and a restaurant at the west end of the beach.

Maui is certainly an island of many wonders, filled with attractions that will surely make a visitor fall in love with the place, and you will definitely look forward to going back.
