African Safari You Can Visit

If you're deciding to head over to Africa, you cannot miss the opportunity of a lifetime to see its natural wonder, the abundant wildlife and birdlife, ranging from stunning savannas to arid deserts, the various jungles to the powerful waterfalls. The safari, it is a unique type of holiday that leaves every person speechless. Being able to observe the rarest animals in a wall free, wild habitat is one of life's privileges; no wonder it's been such a popular holiday choice for so many years. Here are some safari destinations you can visit in Africa.

  • The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is actually part of the greater Serengeti ecosystem. The whole area is beautiful and wildlife rich, and is a particularly good destination for those active folk who enjoy hiking and walking, but undoubtedly the biggest draw for safari-goers in this area is the fabulous Ngorongoro Crater. This is an African Eden - a dip in the landscape which offers lush greenery, sparkling waters and amazing wildlife to those who dare to venture down the 2000ft high walls. A day spent here is a day spent in safari paradise.
  • Tanzania's oldest and most popular park, the Serengeti, is a magical place. Being a world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th world-wide wonder, it is most famed for the annual migration known as the Great Wildebeest Migration. Over two million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle join together and embark upon an epic journey from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara in Kenya searching for fresh water and grass. This amazing spectacle can be seen on your family safari in a number of ways; one of the most exciting ways is from a hot air balloon.
  • The Lake Victoria, It is a shame that this beautiful corner of the world is often overlooked by visitors to Tanzania. Lake Victoria is not top of the list for spotting game, but those people who have the time and the inclination to visit the shores of this vast lake will be richly rewarded with lovely scenery and an authentic insight into the lake-side lifestyle, largely unchanged for many, many years.

A trip to all or any of these amazing safari reserves may take some time, but if you can make at least one of these parks it will be well worth the journey. Always book in advance to secure your spot on one of these safari tours and make sure you check what time of year is best to visit.
