Activities In Rio de Janeiro

Throughout the whole year, Rio is filled with the best tropical climate. If you are going to stay in Rio for a couple of weeks or months, you should be able to enjoy almost every activity available in this place and more of the best if you visit this place during summer. For tourists who do not like the heat and humidity, they may not like the climate in Rio. The best activities to enjoy in this city are water sports in its gorgeous oceans, biking, hiking, city tours, nature treks and many more!

  • The national sport of the country is Soccer and considered the most famous outdoor activity enjoyed by the locals and the tourists as well. Playing soccer in hot weathers can get tiring especially when you are playing against a number of locals that are very skillful with the sport and are already used to the heat. If you wish to get a break but want to play the soccer still, just take a deep breath and sit back, watching other locals play the sport at the Maracana stadium. The stadium is famous for hosting various soccer matches around the world and will probably host the final match for 2014. If you are just here to view how the locals play with soccer or visiting to watch a match, it is best to book for the lower seats or cadeiras to get a good view. You will need to contact the managers of the stadium beforehand if you wish to book tickets.
  • If you go the coast of Rio you will witness an array of water activities that teens and families will truly enjoy. This includes kite surfing, body boarding, surfing and scuba diving. A beach volleyball game is also a tradition played by the locals here or if you prefer a laid back game you can try the fresco ball. For surfers, the beaches of Prainha, Joa, Grumari, Barra, Ipanema and Copacabana are the most recommended spots for surfing. The scuba diving's main spot is at the Cagarras Islands which is located near Ipanema, but it is only possible during the summer.

Other activities worth enjoying are cycling, walking, jogging, hiking, hang gliding and rock climbing. These are the best activities for tourist who are fond of exercising their body without getting wet with the waters of the beach and want to find a different scenery that will make them witness the beauty of Rio.
